Managing type 2 diabetes: a guide for patients
Abstract
A plain-language handbook covering diet, activity, medication, foot care and blood sugar monitoring, written for patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
This guide is written for people who have recently been told they have type 2 diabetes. It explains what the diagnosis means and the practical steps that make the biggest difference in the first year.
Everyday management
Regular meals, portion awareness and thirty minutes of activity most days will improve blood sugar control. Your care team will agree target ranges with you and review them at each visit.
