A parent's guide to childhood vaccinations

Vaccination is the single most effective way to protect your child from serious infectious disease. The childhood schedule is designed to give protection at the ages when children are most vulnerable.
On the day
Bring your child's vaccination card. The injection itself takes seconds. We ask you to stay in the waiting area for about fifteen minutes afterwards so our team can check that your child is comfortable.
Common reactions
Mild fever, tiredness or a tender arm are normal and settle within a day or two. Contact us if a fever goes above 39°C or if your child seems unusually unwell.
